TODAY IS SMASH’S BIRTHDAY!What do you do for birthday celebrations? Feel free to share pictures!
I miss those days a lot, expecially how much more fit and thin I was because of all the calories I burned in a single night. *sigh* I’ve become an old fuddy dud. Now, I just like a nice dinner now, either out or cooked by Dr. Smash. Maybe a movie, maybe attending an event (musical, etc), or maybe just a whole lot of nothing as I sob in my coffee that I’m now 34! Ugh. Just ugh. I don’t feel 34, but I am sad that I’m 34 with no bebe yet. But maybe I will be 34 with a bebe…later this year? We shall see. Anywho, this year I’m enjoying dinner with my in-laws (my brother in-law) shares my birthday, and maybe something fun with Dr. Smash on the weekend. My mom sent me some money to start my Microsoft Surface fund. I want one soooooooooooo bad, but need to save up for it.I have a funny birthday memory. It was my 24th, and my friends took me out. I got uber trashed because they were buying me drinks with names like Alien Piss (nothing good can come of a drink with that name) and Flaming Dr. Pepper (Flaming Dr. Pepper’s are SO GOOD but watch yourself! http://www.drinknation.com/drink/flaming-dr-pepper). Anywho, by the end of the night, I couldn’t stand up by myself and had to lean on everyone. I also couldn’t see 10 feet in front of me. They got me back to the townhome, dragged me up the stairs and put me to bed. All my friends stayed downstairs with my roommate. All of a sudden, they heard a loud BOOM, and came running into my room, only to find that I had rolled out of bed, and was crawling to the bathroom…LOL. Oh man. I do not miss that part of drinking, let me tell you.

For my 21st birthday, my friends took me to a strip club and I clearly remember one of the strippers had this day-glo liquid that he poured all over himself including down his tight, white banana hammock. Needless to say, I drank a LOT.

For 41, I went to Sushi Happy Hour and was home by 7:30
I am well past my years of partying well into the night. Now I use my birthday as an excuse to eat at restaurants that I wouldn’t normally splurge for and catch up with friends.

I totally feel your reminiscing pain. I remember having a night like that that both involved me slipping on the ice by the car (and laughing the pain away), throwing up on the console on the way home (hubs was NOT impressed), and collapsing in my closet begging hubs to just leave me there.
I like to think I’m a little more responsible these days.
And 34 is okay! I’m turning 32 this year — you’re only as old as you feel, if I can use that cliche!
First of all Happy Birthday. Second of all I’d give ANYTHING to be 34 again. So enjoy your thirties…for the years will pass fast and you will be, um, my age someday wondering…wtf? And as for a baby…I wish you the best.
To be honest, I’ve always disliked my birthday probably starting with my teens b/c I just felt the years passing so fast. What can I say, I’m maudlin. I try to avoid celebrating but I do consent going out to dinner.
Happy Birthday, Smashy! Getting “smashed” isn’t quite as fun when you’re over 30 but I do love a great game night with friends for my birthday. We played this evil game called “Cards Against Humanity” for New Year’s Eve and it was so fun!

I don’t really do anything and haven’t since I was a kid. Age doesn’t bother me (although as I approach 50 – I’m 47 – I’m starting to freak a little). I have never been more active or had more fun than I am right now so it’s all good.
