Melissa from i swim for oceans has decided to discontinue her blog. Smash graciously asked her if she could take over her Friday “Let’s Talk” discussion feature and she was happy to pass along the torch. Kt (A Book Obsession) expressed interest in teaming up with Smash, so here we are!

Melissa’s meme was all about books, as her descriptions states here:

Let’s Talk is a fun new weekly meme in which we discuss anything and everything about books! Whether it’s a nagging issue in the blogosphere, or simply a fun discussion topic, we’ll talk about it all! Each Friday, there will be a linky in which you can connect your own post, sharing your thoughts will all the participants. Each month, I’ll update the post topics so you can prepare your very own Let’s Talk post!

LetsTalk Lets Talk: We want your input!

Kt and I would like to expand the topics to anything and everything. We not only want to talk books, but life, in general. Let’s get personal (but respectfully so) and learn more about one another! Now, we are gathering information on what you would be interested in discussing, as well as any specific questions you may have.

Submit responses here, not in the comments.

To show our appreciation, we will choose two winners (One US and One International) via random.org to receive a book noted below.

  • U.S. Giveaway: One winner will get a choice of One ARC from below.

  • Int’l Giveaway: One Winner will get a choice of ONE book up to $10 from Book Depository. Please ensure BD ships to your location!

Note: The contest is open until 10/20/12 and winners will be contacted via email. Winner has 48 hours to reply before another winner is chosen.

We would like to kick off the feature on November 2. Please share your great ideas and we hope you are interested in getting to know each other better.

THANK YOU!

    1. Oh my gosh, you guys totally beat me to it! Lol. I’m glad someone picked this up though, because this is one of my favorite features. Yay!

sounds like a lot of fun. :)

For the book end: Maybe Reader vs. Blogger impressions of etiquette cuz lord knows that some snafus happen :) . Why we pick what we read. How much blog influence there is on getting the word out on new/debut books. How much covers do influence attention.. Why does everyone like 50 shades of Grey? .

And then for a non book topic… how hard is it to fit reading into every day life without guilt? What do we do to destress.

Ok… that’s all the non caffeinated brain can come up with :) Have a wonderful day and weekend!

      • Thank you for the input! Love your Qs. I think we should def do something with 50 Shades. I have no interest in it, but I’m fascinated by the crazy amount of ppl who were glued to the pages!

If you want to be entered in the giveaway, please input this into the spreadsheet. The link is above. :)

    3. oh i like this meme and never heard of it . I like it

    4. Oooooh, I love the idea of this feature!!! I’ll definitely join in :) As for questions… mmmm, I’d be interested in
a, how much time people spend on their blogs, commenting, etc each week and how they balance that with their other commitments
b, how many times do they pick up certain books after reading someone’s review or whether reviews influence them in any way or not

    5. Nice! How ’bout something on developing relationships with authors and still being unbiased when reviewing their books?
