Clock Rewinders on a Book Binge: 10/28/12

Clock Rewinders on a Book Binge is the weekly recap feature created by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Tara @ 25 Hour Books, where they shamelessly plug each other, share the fantastic posts, giveaways, or whatever else they’ve found and loved by other awesome bloggers/authors/publishers/etc during the week, and talk about the books they plan on reading in the coming week.

Smash Attack Reads Recap

I have UBER awesome news: Jen from Not Now, I’m Reading is joining the review team! Jen warms my heart with her big heart, snarky personality and random awesomeness. She (and Isa and Vane!) made me short stay in Miami bearable and I miss them all like woah! Jen has decided to let her own blog fall on the back burner for now, and she will be bringing her vibrant personality to you a few times a month. YAHOO! Love this woman! ♥
And now I have sad news: Cody is no longer reviewing for the blog. I made the decision, not him. He has big priorities right now, and I completely understand that, but  I need to keep this machine running, too. I we wish him all the luck. I invited him back for guest reviews at any time. I would really love to find a new male reviewer, since I love having that viewpoint…

In the life of Smash

  • I had training two days this week to learn the ins and outs of my duties as site coordinator. I feel wicked energized by it all and really hope I can get things moving at the school. It’s difficult to meet with people during the school day, and a lot of people don’t want to stick around after. So, challenges already but that’s expected. I am slowly starting the needs assessment process, and figuring out who will be on my site team. It’s all very exciting!
  • I got this cool little one-cup coffee pod brewer for my office. It’s so cute and will help with the mess factor. A lot of people have been asking for the brand, and I will have to get back to you on Monday, since I can’t remember!

  • T & I went to a Georgia Tech game yesterday. I love being able to walk to the stadium. YAY for living in Midtown!
  • I’ve been reading hella slow. HELLA slow. I’ve also found I have little interest in the internet when I get home…WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ME? icon sad Clock Rewinders on a Book Binge: 10/28/12

Smashtastic Stats

  • Read in 2012: 90
    • Jenny Plague-Bringer: Holy crapola. LOVED that we went back into the past lives of the characters. Just, wow. I love this series.
  • Currently Reading: 2
    • The Demon’s Lexicon (The Demon’s Lexicon Trilogy, #1): I started this one on audio since I have a small commute now. I am enjoying the hell out of the British and Irish accents, as well as the sarcastic lead character.
    • Passenger: I’m reading this in very short bursts. I think it will take me a while. It’s nice and CRAZY. icon smile Clock Rewinders on a Book Binge: 10/28/12

  1. That coffee machine is so cute! Sounds like you’ve had a busy busy week ;-)

Looking forward to the first Let’s Talk post next week.

    Have a good one!

  2. Jen D. says:

I’m super stoked to be part of the team! Let’s do the damn thing. ;-)

  3. YAY JEN! I have greatly missed her presence around the blogosphere, so I am happy to hear she is returning.

I hope your reading picks up soon! It’s no fun when you want to read, but don’t have the energy/motivation/whatever. =/

  4. Sometimes educational types don’t like to stay on their time and it has made me sad for years. Me thinks they need remember why they are doing what they do OR get out. Now on the same note, sometimes our time has been wasted and that is why some are so jaded.

I almost caved to the local Scholastic Book Fair, but I am trying so hard not to spend any $ this month. I had to keep reminding myself that I’ll be working the warehouse sail soon…be patient.

Coffee and Happy Owls are a must on the job.

    • Coffee and Happy Owls! My office is full of that. lol

I’ve only been at the school a week, so people are still learning who I am and what I’m doing there. I will be dragging out their thoughts, whether they like it or not! The jaded thing effects many, in my occupation too!

I bought one book, to support the school! Right? Anyone…?

  5. Anne says:

I have GOT to get going on Jenny Pox. I’m pretty sure I even have it on my Nook. And everyone RAVES about how good that series is – seems like every week I have someone else tell me how good it is. Thanks for the reminder! lol

  6. Yay for a new reviewer, but sad you had to lose one. :(

I love your little coffee maker! If I get hired as a permanent employee at the library (maybe sometime in the future?), I may buy them a Keurig. Everyone needs fresh coffee!

I’ve been busy the past week and a half and have had the same internet issues as you … I need a plan to do internet things in the morning so I get things done. I neglected my favourite blogs for too long! Being busy really drains a person.

Smash Attack Reads is a blog that celebrates the world of books and the people who create them. Smash also rambles about crafts, personal and social worky-stuff sometimes, too.
