Alien Super-Being Exterminator Kitty Katt is expecting her first baby. But the alien attacks are getting more dangerous, and now Kitty and her Alpha Centaurion husband, Jeff, have to find out who's behind the conspiracy to kill Kitty's secret agent mom and what caused Kitty's transformation into a superhuman-and they've got to do it all before the baby shower...
Smash: There is no doubt about it. This series has some of the best characters I’ve ever encountered. They have extremely well-rounded personalities and I adore their loyalty and personal connections. Plus, they are wicked fun!
Amanda: These characters have a tendency to make me die of snorting. They’re just fun to read.
Smash: I feel like they are all MY best friends. And no, I won’t share! *grabs Reader and runs*
Amanda: That’s okay, after this book, I want Richard White for myself.
Smash: He and Kitty are a match made in partner heaven! I thoroughly look forward to more of those two working together. Their sarcasm knobs were in tune.
Amanda: I thought it was hilarious when Richard just went with the flow and the two of them were play acting. It was such a change from the Richard we’ve known in previous books.
Smash: YES! I think that’s why it was so delightful. I liked seeing the ‘unstuffy’ side of him. Their stint in Paris was so fun.
Amanda: However, Kitty’s interactions with Richard also highlight some of my problems with this book: keeping track of the characters. Richard alone had two or three names, and there were plenty of other characters who also had many nicknames. It got confusing after a while.
Smash: I definitely agree. Multiple nicknames and tons of characters. I could not keep the villains straight, either. It was definitely confusing and after a while, I just glazed over the names and quit trying to tie them to their identity. I know all the Dazzlers and all the other females names, but as far as who is who…forgetaboutit.
Amanda: I stopped trying to figure out who was who after a while, too. It was just too much work, and it detracted from the story when I had to stop and think about each character. I actually read a book or two while I was also reading this. Toward the beginning, it was really easy to put down.
Smash: I thought the opening was more interesting and engaging because it was not as confusing yet! Did you also have issues with Kitty figuring out all the details? And I mean, serious details? I know this is fiction, but I couldn’t wrap my head around her conclusions. Which were always right.
Amanda: Ha. I’ll give you that, though I also found the beginning to be a little angsty, which was something that usually drives me a little crazy. But yes, I definitely had issues with Kitty connecting all the dots that other characters couldn’t. I could have believed it if *I* was also able to make the connections before Kitty, but most of the time, the conclusions she made seemed to be out of left field.
Smash: Totally. It was hard to follow most of the time. I think I stayed with it because 1) the characters 2) new developments with Kitty herself 3) Richard/Kitty combo and 4) POOFS! I want a poof soooo bad. I was pleased they got so much page-time.
Amanda: Yes to all of those! And let’s not forget the baby. The baby certainly makes things interesting.
Smash: How could I forget about lil Jamie-Kat! What an intriguing character she is turning out to be! Did you love the scenes where Kitty had to feed her? Oh man. Hilarious.
Amanda: Heh. The torpedoes. Even Kitty’s boobs got to have a nickname.
Smash: LOL! Yea. At least that is one we could keep straight. Speaking of torpedoes, this leads me to think of Jeff, since he also loves them. I adore Jeff, but he felt off this book, to me. Not all of the time. Maybe it was his jealousy over Chuckie that got to me. Honestly, I’m over it. Though I will say Chuckie teasing him about it is kinda funny. Heh.
Amanda: Jeff’s jealousy issues have been one of my least favorite aspects of this series. I like that Chuckie would tease Jeff because it was occasionally funny, but… I just kind of want Chuckie to get his own woman and get over it.
Smash: This may be happening, but who’s to say? I love that Chuckie and Kitty have such an intense bond, but sometimes you need to set boundaries and stuff. In the real world, anyway.
Amanda: I agree about boundaries. There doesn’t always seem to any.
Smash: Ok. I’m curious on your thoughts about Christopher in this book. His heartfelt conversation with Kitty in isolation was so warm and real.
Amanda: I really like the character growth that Christopher went through. It is, perhaps, something that many people can identify with. And even though he started out pretty roughly in the beginning, things started looking up (#GutterPass meaning may or may not have been intended there) for him.
Smash: *snort* Hallelujah! I have to say that the White men were my favorite aspect of this particular book. And the poofs, too.
Amanda: The White men and the poofs definitely kept the story entertaining. I’m also curious what will happen in the next book. Things….changed a bit at the end of the story.
Smash: Well, we know who and where, maybe? I actually liked that little ‘oops’ detail thrown in that definitely propels the characters into the next book.
Amanda: We definitely have an idea of where it will go. It will be interesting to see how Kitty and Jeff deal with it.
Smash: My final thought is: What would you name your poof, and why?
Amanda: Son of a giraffe shifter, that’s a difficult question! I’m terrible at naming things! Um… If I had a poof, I think I would name it… Poofster.
Smash: Love it! Mine would be Puff the Maniacal Poof. I named him during the last book. Don’t look at me like that! It’s normal.
Amanda: *looks at you*

and
Smash’s Favorite Scene
I nudged him. “You awake?”
He heaved a sigh. “I am now.”
“Great! I can’t sleep. Let’s look at baby product catalogs.”
Jeff groaned. “I can remember a time when, if you were waking me up in the middle of the night, it wasn’t to thumb through catalogs.”
“Yes, the result of which is why we need to look at baby catalogs now.”

It’s like the stars are aligned. I just found the 1st two in the series last night at Half-Price Books. I’m extra-super-excited to have them starring at me from my TBR bookcases.y’all crack me up.
You will definitely enjoy these books. Wicked funny times.
WTF is a poof? I’m thinking cute flully animal? Bahaha. This sounds pretty good I love a great character driven story and this review was highly entertaining!
Oh Giselle…you really need to read these books so you can discover the poofs for yourselves!
This review was really fun to read. I am wondering what in the world a poof is. I guess I will have to read these books to find out. I am adding this series to my ever growing TBR list now.
If you like sc-fi, adult romance and lots of laughs, this series is will be worth it.
I just checked my library website and they have all of them. I am going to put a hold on the first one and they well send it to my library from the closest one that has it in stock.
This series sounds really great!!
This makes me happy! You are in for some laughs.
I love that quote but it is oh-so-true LOL
Y’all give the best reviews! So fun and I do have book 1 of this series. I will get to it eventually
I think you might enjoy the series, Felicia. This book just had LOTS going on.
Have I told you how much I love all your book cover pictures? I do. I want to steal the idea, I love it so much.
I give you permission to steal. STEAL, Amanda. I corrupt thee.
OK. I need to check these out! First, to find out what a Poof is. Second, to see if they can get all this done before the baby shower. THE SUSPENSE!
Oh, and I hate it when there are too many nicknames for a character — I don’t like to be confused while reading.
You will love the Poofs. They are my favorite characters!
Thankfully the characters sparkle with awesome…
I completely agree with you guys that it’s hard to keep track of all the characters! Ummm, it doesn’t get easier, sorry! That’s why rated the next book a little lower than all the others. I’m really wanting Alien vs. Alien to reel it back in some. But OMGosh!! Richard White is the bomb!! Who knew that he was so cool?! I think that was one of my all time fave parts, too!
You guys totally nailed it! *glove clap* Next!!
I just finished book #1 yesterday and I have book #2 ready to go. I can’t say I was totally in love with it but it was a lot of fun.
They are a lot of fun and good for laughs. I hope you continue on to book 3 and meet the Poofs!
