Can I PLEASE visit The Dells? I do not care if I get eat by flying beasties. In fact, it’s the beasties I want to see!  I just want to witness the utter beauty of their nature. I also want to visit with Fire, who is made of so much win.

As dangerous as it is, I want to accompany Alina to the Unsea and watch her light that shit up! Also, I would love to visit the surrounding areas, especially the mountainous terrain that she and Mal traverse. Oh, and I’d love to see Genya work her magic. On me, of course. icon smile Top Ten Tuesdays: Most Vivid Worlds/Settings In Books

This is a kind of dystopian-esque retelling of Alice in Wonderland, which is an ultimate favorite of mine. I mainly want to visit this world for the characters. Redd is the Queen from Hell. She created The Cat, a half-man, half cat creature that does her dirty bidding. He also has 9 lives that are slowly taken, mainly by Redd herself! icon smile Top Ten Tuesdays: Most Vivid Worlds/Settings In Books The Rook, Dodge, Bibwit Harte and Hatter Madigan!! Hatter Madigan is one of the coolest characters evar.

Tell me you don’t find the setting of this novel beautiful? I won’t believe you. icon smile Top Ten Tuesdays: Most Vivid Worlds/Settings In Books Of course, it was brought to life for us with the movie, which was aesthetically pleasing. I’ve always been fascinated with the life of geisha in their time, and was drawn to the story immediately. It is not a happy tale but the setting is one I wish I could have witnessed. The streets full of hand carts, geisha walking around in kimono and obi sashes with their elaborate hair and makeup, cherry blossoms shedding blossoms, tea ceremonies and theater…

Um, 18th Century Scotland AND Jamie Fraser? Where the frak do I sign up? And in case you need reminding:

“Not yet. We’ve time. And I mean to hear ye groan like that again. And to moan and sob, even though you dinna wish to, for ye canna help it. I mean to make you sigh as though your heart would break, and scream with the wanting, and at last to cry out in my arms, and I shall know that I’ve served ye well.”

Ohhhh! The world beyond the border in Magisterium was awesomely scary and the magic and scenery were full of wonder and awe. The Miel Pan are a group of people whose scenes were rich with beauty and detail. And then there are the characters, such as the Magistra herself, who I fully picture as Charlize Theron in Snow White and the Hunstman. She was scary and malevolent but I think witnessing her incredible transformation would be amazing! Of course, she’d likely lop my head off afterwards, but I’d die happily terrified!

10215349 Top Ten Tuesdays: Most Vivid Worlds/Settings In BooksOh please, oh PLEASE, can I go frolick in the half-submerged dystopian Chicago? Can I climb the ravaged skyscrapers and run through the ZOMPIRE-infected forests? Of course, I do not want to be eaten by zompires during my stay, so be sure to keep them under wraps. I do, however, want to run into Zeke. Run. In. To. Him. Literally.

Without Richard Parker though. He has to stay on the boat. Oh, and I don’t want to go swimming, either. I’ll just sit up in the tree and take in the beauty.

I cannot profess my love for Asian dynasty literature. I am amazed at how they lived, how lavish and exuberant and luxurious life was for royalty. It was beautiful to envision. Of course, there are always extremes, so the poverty was just as visual.

Yea…do I need to explain? If you haven’t read this book, it is a visual masterpiece. This circus is unlike any you have ever come across, and the way the story was written pulls the reader in. It’s as though you are visiting the circus and all its magical glory. It is just breathtaking to experience!

Come share your incredible worlds with me!

This was such an awesome topic. YAY for Outlander! Surprisingly I didn’t add it to my own list, partly because I love the characters more than the specific settings, and partly because I feel like I list it somehow every freaking week, lol.

And I’ll totally go visit The Dells with you. We shall brave the monsters together.

    2. Ooh, NICE choices! Immortal Rules–that would be a super-creepy world to visit. Brilliantly written but so creepy.

I haven’t read The Night Circus yet (on my list!), though I’m not so sure about circus settings.

NO! As much as I love the Scottish accent, I can’t stand it in written dialog. It drives me crazy. I still don’t know how I made it through the Lykae books in the IAD series, much less loved them. *shudders*

    4. Logan says:

So many good picks here – Outlander, The Night Circus, where do I sign up? I just picked up Shadow and Bone, so I’m extra looking forward to that one now!
