Unexpected Books: Which books did you have reservations about reading, but ended up loving once you did?

22628 TGIF: Unexpected BooksI had reservations about this book merely because it is not my usual genre of choice. However, it blew me away, emotionally. My review.

Again, not my cup of tea, genre-wise, but you don’t need to be a contemporary lover to become engrossed by these books. They refuse to go unheard and you will listen! Reviews here and here.

I’m not a Romantic Suspense reader, but I truly enjoy the CONduct series. It is fun and meaningful. I think what I most love about Jen’s writing is the psychological analysis of her characters. It is so interesting! Reviews here and here.

What books surprised you?

I definitely need to pick up the ones by Gayle Forman, all I hear is good things, but I’ve been delaying it! I’m glad you enjoyed all of these, and have a good weekend!

    2. I saw The Perks of Being a Wallflower in the store just recently and *almost* bought it. Unfortunately, I’m too much of a cover whore, so it just didn’t make it to the checkout counter. Might have to get it on Kobo!

And I looooved the Gayle Forman books! Especially the first one. :)

    3. Ooh, I’ll have to check out the Jennifer Lane books–those look fun! Gayle Foreman’s were very surprising to me, too. Not what I usually read but I loved ‘em. Kind of like PUSHING THE LIMITS–not usually my thing since it had so much angst and drama but I adored it.

    4. Thanks for the shout-out, Ash! I’m hard at work on book three of the trilogy, “On Best Behavior”. Have a fab weekend!

    5. It is always fun to see someone liking something from a different genre. I love it when a book can cross genres. I’m glad I dropped by from TGFI. I am your newest follower.
      Cheers,
      Shanae
