Clock Rewinders on a Book Binge is the weekly recap feature created by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Tara @ 25 Hour Books, where they shamelessly plug each other, share the fantastic posts, giveaways, or whatever else they’ve found and loved by other awesome bloggers/authors/publishers/etc during the week, and talk about the books they plan on reading in the coming week.

In the life of Smash
- Cyrus and Eliana - Eliana out danced Cyrus, I think! He is still a bad ass at what he does though.
- Whitney & Chehon - the emotion blinded me. Beautiful routine!
- Lindsay & Cole - Lindsay impressed the BLEEP out of me!
Ugh, this image/copyright frenzy has me freaking out. I’m slowly going through my posts and deleting images or adding public domain pictures. It’s going to take time out of writing reviews and other bloggie stuffs, but it must be done. I actually learned a lot from Sarah @ Storybound Girl, Shiloh Walker and Sophia @ Fiction Vixen on this topic. Of course, if you did not see Mindful Musing’s posts here and here, they are fantastic. And then there is this one regarding Pinterest. From what I gathered, pretty much all the Creative Common licenses are ok to use, though some cannot be altered and all must be credited. I’ve learned about a ton of places to search for public domain images. Of course, always read terms of service before you use a site. I’m going through my Pinterest images too, and have deleted Tumblr altogether. *whines* From what I understand about Pinterest, if the site has a Pin button, the image is obviously OK to pin. However, the image needs to be directly linked back to its home on that site. If it’s not, it’s not ok. 98% of my pins don’t lead back to the original image, and many don’t lead back to anything at all!
- Creative Commons
- Stock Vault
- Wylio
- MorgueFile
- Big Stock Photo
- Flickr - use the Advanced Search options for Creative Commons licenses
- Google Image Search – choose the correct Usage Rights
I finally sent off all my references for my LMSW license and now the waiting game begins. In the interim, I will study my face off. I’m thinking 4 hours a day. Some of this shit I haven’t looked at since 2008-09, like theories and crap. Ugh…*snore* P.S. Freud was cazysauce but someone needs to turn his stuff into fiction!
Also, I scrapped a lot! I am loving Project Life and it is really addicting!

“I’m just wondering how exactly I went from being the Spider to the Robin fucking Hood of the greater Ashland area… Instead of stealing from the rich, I’m stabbing them to death for the poor.”

Tidbits from around the blogosphere
Authors/Publishers
- Andrew Smith wrote about Passenger, the sequel to The Marbury Lens!
Passenger really does complete the saga of Jack and his friends in many ways (which is why it is so freaking LONG!). Where The Marbury Lens looked at the effects of trauma within the very tightened boundaries of Jack’s own psychology — his ability to process, deal with things, stumble through choices – Passenger looks at the larger environment of Jack’s traumatic experience as it affects his friends.
I REALLY hope all of you decide to join in The Marbury Lens read-a-long/discussion in September.

Congrats on your first acknowledgement–that’s awesome! And those scrapbooking pages are very cool. Have a great week!
Much thanks! It was quite the surprise.
So proud of your book acknowledgement. You do such a great job.
Thanks for all the extra image info. Yep, that scares the bejesus about of me. I’m going to make an honest effort at getting a hold of Marbury Lens and join in September.
Thank you so much, Amy. ♥
I BEG OF YOU to join in Marbury fun. I promise you the book is worth it.
Getting an acknowledgement is AWESOME! Congrats! I have one in Shift by Merrick for the editing work that I did, and it’s kind of mind blowing to see your name for anyone to see.
Thanks for all the links to sites for pictures! I have bookmarked some of them.
Also, best of luck with all the licensing and job search. *huggles*
PS. Finn from the Elemental Assassin series cracks me up. Love him!
Yea, it feels great, especially because it was so very unexpected. I hope those image sites for for you!
P.S. Finn is made of serious win. He keeps getting better and better.
I get my images for free at FreeDigitalPhotos.net. For them to be free, you have to publish a credit, which I always do. I want to go back through my posts, though, to make sure I’m not missing anything. I guess I should also go through Pinterest, too! Geesh … what a hassle!
Life of Pi is on my reread list! I just go the audiobook, which I won from Audiobook Week, and I can’t wait to listen to it. I remember loving it when I first read it.
Have an awesome week! BTW, this is my first time to your blog — I love the design!
I’ll have to check out that image site. But yea, I’ve had to delete most of my Pinterest pins, and I’m only 1/4 of the way through my boards. It’s so time consuming.
Life of Pi! I should reread it before the movie. It’s been a good 5+ years.
And THANK YOU! I went to your blog for the first time today, also, because Amanda mentioned you on her Clock Rewinders.
Blogging & the internets is starting to make my head hurt lol
Thanks for posting the link for the August BBC questions
Yay for your acknowledgment!!!!
My head hurts daily for this BS. And Yay all around!
OMG! Stacia Kane’s posts are cracking me up! I’m dying here!
Those posts are epic.
OMG, Smash, I started watching The Walking Dead! It was a whim completely born of a dearth of TV to watch while I work out–seriously, the Netflix app on my iPad has made me a lot more willing to go to the gym. So far, I’m loving it, though I have to remove my earplugs and look away when the really gory stuff happens (like when they hack up the zombie and smear the guts on themselves). I’m not ready to convert to Team Zombie (will never happen), but I really like the post-apocalyptic element.
YAY! Isn’t it a great character-driven series?
Congrats on the book acknowledgement! It’s crazy exciting!
Thank you, Stephanie!
Duuude, is there not someone I could pay to go through my pictures? Gah.
