In the life of Smash
- I applied for licensure! Once all the paperwork goes through, then I will get approval to take the exam. Of course, this means I must now become very serious about studying…
- I went to a networking event on Thursday. It was at a staffing agency that places social workers in temp to perm positions, on an as needed basis. Weird setup for social workers, but I guess they help out for grant funded positions, fill in when people are on leave, etc. I might call back for an interview to get on their listing. However, the lady strongly urged us to get licensed ASAP, as most jobs require the first level, LMSW. You see, in FL, there is only one level – LCSW. You are then a clinical expert and can have a private practice, prescribe meds, etc. However, in GA, there is a step before that – LMSW. Licensed Master Social Worker. What this means if you have to take an exam after your get your Masters, which pretty much means your Masters is worthless without it. Assholes. So anyway, it’d be nice to find something part-time, since income is much-needed, but I’m just going to study my ass off and get that exam done ASAP.
- I made nutella cupcakes! I want to start baking more. It was wicked fun. Unfortunately, it’s not the best idea when you are trying to lose weight. :/
- The Doin It Dirty erotica read-a-thon was FUN. Wicked fun. Thanks, Amanda and Kelly! ♥

Favorite Quotes of the Week
So we know she’s safe and taken care of?” Daniel asked, and she nodded. “Good. Then why don’t we do something that you want to do?”
“Like what?”
“I don’t know. What do you like to do?”
“Um….” Her stomach rumbled, since crying always made her hungry. “I like eating breakfast.”
“That’s so weird.” Daniel grinned. “Because I like making French toast.”
“That works out, doesn’t it?”

We must read Alien Proliferation one of these days! Maybe during the next Bout of Books?
YES! We must.
I know how you feel about studying. I am a Pharmacy Technician. But I need to take my National, so I can be a “cpht” (Clinical Pharm Tech) Which in the end pays more & well, after 2 years is the law, but OMG I am about to die because I have done nothing but study & pack (I’m moving). But I hope everything goes smoothly for you.
Love the search terms. haha!! & I will miss the man candy
Don’t give up! It will all be worth it in the end. ♥
Holy crap, that one about being sued scares me, too! Great links this week, thanks for gathering them together.
As always, you are much welcome. I’m glad someone reads them!
That sucks that you have to take a test before being able to practice. Is that only a Georgia thing? When will you be ready to take the LCSW test? (In Ohio I think it’s the LISW). After 5 years for my Ph.D. and one year of postdoc, I sat for my national psychologist license exam (EPPP) and fortunately passed but it was tough to study for it. Ohio also has an oral exam for state laws but it wasn’t too bad. Now I think most states would accept my test scores but some states still require extra work. APA is trying to work on getting better reciprocity from state to state. Good luck!
Yea, it stinks. All the decent jobs require the basic level licensure. *le sigh* After that, I need 120 hours supervision, so many clinical hours, and an exam. So that will take a few years. *le sigh again*
Whoa, that’s one scary post regarding pics – I guess it’s something people really don’t think about very often!
Love Rhiannon Frater, she gets it spot on.
Now, maybe I’ll invest in some smut too……as long as it doesn’t come with inherent dickbaggery – bahahahaha!
Rhiannon is a Boss. And yes, the image thingie has been getting a lot of recognition lately, and frankly, it’s scaring the pants off of me.
Smut doesn’t always have dickbaggery, though it is tough to weed them out!
Asshats in GA! Grrrr…. You’ll do great on your test I’m sure!! And holy smokes, where do I find dancing Joe??? I’m a googling away!!! I have to shake the fear in me from reading that story about getting sued for putting pics on our blogs (YIKES)!!
Awesome post this week!!!
Did you see Magic Mike? I sure hope so. The shadow dance is well worth it, even if it isn’t his real peen. heh
You are most welcome! Your commentary on your search terms is cracking me up, btw!
Oh good, I’m glad someone is reading my commentary.
