Most of you know that I moved from Miami to Atlanta, and with that came a new home layout and the need for new furniture. We donated a lot of stuff in Miami because of age or not working in our new space, and we were able to get some new stuff. I needed bookshelves badly, and thankfully, T was on board for the purchase…
Here we go!

Miscellaneous fiction and other genres in the bedroom…
Shelf behind the couch, which houses my zombie collection, cookbooks, and genocide literature.
Eclectic much?
Here’s the hutch in the office that just houses a few of my FAVS!
Here is my UF and PNR shelf! Woot!
And finally, my YA and Middle Grade shelves! ♥
See all that room to grow?? :D

WOW love the shelves and how you organized them too. I need more space in my apartment before I can get more shelves, but I do have buckets of books under my coffee table instead, LOL
I have to purge, so says my fiancee, but I’ve only gotten rid of books I definitely won’t read again etc. *sigh* The life of a book lover, eh?
Enjoy those wonderful new shelves!
I purged recently too. They just don’t understand, those non-bookish people…lol
Ooooh! Pretty. I think our shelves are very similar. I am lacking one less than you and still have numerous stacks on the floor.
I don’t like to have a shelf cluttered and try to shove as much as I can possibly get into one space. Meaning stacking them this way and then that and every other way just to get more to fit. Then in my opinion you can’t find anything because you have a cluttered mess. Anyway, I’ve thought a couple times about stacking some flat down just to see if I can get more room. It looks like you might have gotten more space by doing that. As of now all of my books are in the standard up right position like shelving in a library.
Hmm.. I now must ponder this. Oh, thanks for the tour. I love looking at books!
Laying the books flat does not save room unless you have a lot of them. I won’t lay books flat unless there are 5 or more to the series. But, you could mix authors and stuff if you wanted. Who cares!
I have a lot of the same books as you but the ones you have lying flat, I have upright. Like books by Hopkins, Clare, Ward, Harris, etc.
Oh. And, no I can’t mix authors. My Obsessive Compulsive Disorder will not allow it. It kind of freaks me out that they’re not in Alpha order but I’ve tried that then shelves get full and I have to totally rearrange when I get new books. Now, I pretty much have them ordered by favorites and genre.
Yea, I left a little bit of room at the end of each shelf, in hopes I won’t have to do a lot of rearranging so soon. It is fun but also a PITA. And for those bigger series/author collections, I think laying flat works well.
Yay! Bookshelves! I *love* your bookshelves! Though they look like you need more books. Too much empty space. That’s never a good thing.
I keep space at the end of each shelve for adding new, and the YA shelves have two entire shelves at the bottom for space. You know that shit will get filled fast!
This makes me long for the day when my books can come out of storage to play! I do love me some fabulous bookshelf porn.
Holla for book porn!
So great! Giving your books a new home must make you feel more settled. Perhaps pairing the zombie books with the cookbooks isn’t so strange? Brains a la orange?
LOL! I love how you think. I think.
Love the new shelves! You inspire me to organize my shelves.
Yea! Organizing the shelves is uber fun.
Love them and kudos for your organizational skills. My shelves were organized at one time but now they’re over flowing and my poor shelf is slanting
Yea, there will come a time where there is not enough room anymore. It will not be a happy time for hubs. lol
Lots of room to grow!! Love it
Oh yea! ♥
Oh my lord! And I thought I had a lot of books. I like how you separated all of these.
I definitely like to separate the adult from YA/MG. And you DO have a lot of books. Think happy thoughts.
Ooh, look at the pretties! I LOVE that behind-the-couch shelf. And I love how organized you are!
I need organization in my life, though my desk looks otherwise. I just don’t have enough drawers or places to put shit. lol
Love your bookshelves! Plus, you and I have all the same favorites!!! =)
ROCK!
Nice
I really like the one behind your couch. I don’t own too many books so I just have them alphabetized by author but I love how you organized yours. Great idea.
