Amanda and Kelly have put together an informal summer reading challenge that focuses on SERIES. As with most of us, we have books in series that we have not yet read, that continue to become buried in the stack of incoming material. Some of my most FAVORITE series have one or more books out that I still have not read. I am sick and dang tired of that, and I’m putting my foot down peeps and reading what I want to read!
Now, this is informal. Kelly states “You’re welcome to join us. There is no sign up, no pressure, no check-ins, no anything except a driving need to have a reason to push these books to the top of our respective TBR piles. “
So all that really means is that we have to make a list and do our best to stick to it while cheering one another along. It will be fun, and maybe a #bookbully or two will make an appearance.
So without further ado, here is my list. These are books I currently own and need to read that are part of a series. These are not all of the books I own in a series that need to be read, because there is no frakin way I will be able to read them all during the summer. These are at the top of my list though. I obviously won’t be able to read all of these either, but maybe I’ll just keep on trucking along until the list is DONE.

The only reason that I didn’t jump on board with this is because I have a couple of series that I wanted to start this summer. You seem to have come up with a solution to that. I think Kelly wanted to keep herself from starting any new series until she finished the ones that she still had hanging out there. But Gena Showalter and Jeaniene Frost both have new series coming out this month, I don’t think I can keep myself from starting them ASAP. It’s VLAD Ash – VLAD! LOL! Maybe I’ll just quietly list the series I need to work on and keep track on my own.
Trust me. The minute Vlad is in my hands, I will read nothing else. NOTHING.
First I’m like, “That’s me, that’s me!! I’ve got to sit down, geek out, and write all my freakin’ series down and get started! No more review copies!!”
Then I’m, “What? A BDB I missed??”
Now, I’m giggling my head off b/c I was thinking there was a BDB about a baby in womb already in love with someone (all Twilight-esque) but it’s just Lover RE-Born and I still have to buy and read that one, too!! I’m still stuck on the Wellsie thing.
I personally think you’ll end up reading more than you think! Now that you’ve got them all spotlighted and moved to the top of the TBR mountain, you’ll do great! Summer is reading time!!
I’m going to try and follow along with you guys but no promises… I’m sucking of late with getting to blogging crap. Four more days of school for Jake – WOOT!!
I am TOTALLY still stuck on Welssie too. Ugh. I haven’t cared about this series since Lover Mine, which is one of my favs. I just can’t build up interest in Payne OR Manny…and now Tohr and No’One? *sigh*
I’m right there with you. I think it is awesome to put series you own & hadn’t started. I started my list to work from, but hadn’t added my 1st in a series I want to start and move on.
Yea, I have a ton of series that I haven’t even started and really want to read it. Let’s do this!
You and I both have books 4 and 5 in the Kitty Katt series on our list. Maybe we’ll have to read Alien Proliferation together?
And seriously! Get going on the Iron Druid Chronicles! You know you want to.
I knoooooow. T tore through them and want to discuss them with me. By the time I read them, he’ll have forgotten the details. lol
And we definitely need to read Kitty together. Do I feel a join review coming on? THAT would be fun times.
Yes! Joint review!
Thanks, Smash! I signed up. I did include a couple of series I wanted to start, too, but considering I’m trying to write and I’m part of two book clubs, I probably won’t get through 1/3 of the books I listed anyway! Happy weekend.
Great! Yea, I won’t finish my list either, but we’ll have fun trying.
I am going to jump in too though my list is going to be very all over the place LOL
YAY! There’s no way I’ll finish my list in the summer, so whatevs. lol
That is a lot of reading. I love the Mercedes Thompson series. In fact, an autographed MOON-CALLED has a prize slot on my shelf. Good luck this summer. Roland
NICE! I would LOVE to meet Patricia Briggs!!
I LOVE YOUR LIST! If I finish my (huge) list in a timely manner, I’ll have to do something along these lines – adding a couple of series that I haven’t started, own multiple books and want to reeeeeeaaaaaad.
That was a really poorly constructed sentence. I apologize for it, but I can’t think of a better way to write it so… yeah.
*huggles you*
Um. Gemma Doyle first!
You are sooooo right. I have a TON of books in series that I haven’t read, yet. I am sort of a book hoarder, LOL. There are a lot of these series that you have, that are in my “own and need to read” pile as well!
Thanks for introducing this informal reading extravaganza with your readers. I may have to jump on board with this one!
Sounds like a very fun challenge! I just don’t have time to catch up on that many series this summer so I’m going to pass but I hope you get caught up as much as you can! I’ll be around to cheer Amanda, Kelly, and yourself on!
Happy reading
I don’t have the time either but they are books on my TBR that need to be read, so I might as well start somewhere.
good luck!
Much thanks!
I joined this too and I’m so excited to try and get all these books finished!
The Gemma Doyle trilogy, by the way, was amazing. It’s one of my favorite series I’ve ever read.
I’ve recently read some reviews on the Gemma Doyle series that has me wicked excited. I am definitely now a Libba fan girl after reading Beauty Queens and want to read all her work.
I just signed up for this as well. Good luck!
Awesome. I wish you much luck!
Wow! Good luck that really is a LONG list. I hope you make a good ol’ dent in it
