 My Goals

  • I wanted to read 6 books, and BY GOLLY, I read 6 books! Well, 5 really, because Free Four is only 15 pages long, but who cares! They weren’t all the original planned books but that’s OK too.
  • I participated in 2 of the 3 Twitter chats. Sleep was more important during one of them. I had a blast and met a ton of new bloggers.
  • I participated in 3 challenges, which were all VERY FUN!
  • I entered in the giveaways.
  • I thanked the hosts, and I thank them again. YOU are appreciated.
  • I HAD FUN.

Books I Read

Daily Updates

5/14
Currently Reading: Above
My progress today:
I finished The Last Bastion of the Living. I started it before the read-a-thon, but hell, it counts, right? It’s a pretty epic read and I will be reviewing it for Rhiannon’s blog tour in June.
Current Mood: I am really tired from my weekend of family and fun. Now I have tons of chores to do and need to start packing. I’m exhausted.

5/15
Currently Reading: I had to put Above aside for now. The writing is so irritating, even though I love the world-building. I started In the Path of Falling Objects but I only got 70 pages read today. It’s good! I will continue reading Dead of Night, too. Maberry is the man!
My progress today:
I had a ton of errands and chores, and did not get much reading done. I completed the mini-challenge.
Current Mood: Tired and busy as hell, but hopeful.

5/16
Currently Reading: In the Path of Falling Objects and Dead of Night
My progress today: I read 130 pages of Path and only 2% of Dead of Night. I finished the free Divergent short  called Free Four! These read-a-thons never quite work out how I hope they do…I completed the mini-challenge today.
Current Mood: BUT I WON’T GIVE UP!

5/17
Currently Reading: Dead of Night and Abandon. THANKS to Bout of Books Twitter Chat last night, I learned about Overdrive. I downloaded Room to listen to while packing.
My progress today:  I finished Path in the late afternoon and started Abandon in the evening. I pretty much devoured half of Abandon into the early morning. I will finish it Friday, no doubt. Room in audio is annoying but after a while, I got used to it. I do have the paperback too, so I can pick up where the audio leaves off at any point.
Current Mood: Emotional and exhausted.

5/18
Currently Reading: Room and Oracle’s Moon.
My progress today: I devoured Abandon. Thank goodness I have Underworld! But I decided to start Oracle’s Moon instead. I am wicked glad I did. I am LOVING Khalil, as expected. I read 70% of the book yesterday. I refused to stop reading until I go some horizontal bop action, or in this instance, some vertical floating action, Word! I completed the mini-challenge today.
Current Mood: Tired and crampy. A perfect day to lay in bed and READ!

5/19
Currently Reading: Room and Underworld
My progress today: I finished Oracle’s Moon. Good LAWDIE! *fans self* I am also happy that many of you enjoyed the book poem challenge. It IS challenging, but great fun too. icon smile Bout of Books 4.0 Daily Wrap Up
Current Mood:
In a GREAT mood. I’ve read some really fantastic books this week! Also, I saw The Avengers again last night, and I pretty much need to marry Tony Stark. His sarcasm and snark SLAY me!

5/20
Currently Reading:
 Underworld
My progress today: I finished Room near midnight, and I should have written my review right then because the damn book kept me up into the wee hours of the night. It would NOT get out of my head!
Current Mood: My mood was fantastic today but I trucked along.

THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT WEEK!

      WTG!

I saw that you read Room–I listened to that on audio. Fantastic story that was a bit disconcerting in audio. I was happy to see someone else read it because the story itself is compelling.

      • I started Room on audio. It was CRAZY to listen to at first, but I got into it. I ended up finishing with the book because I needed to finish it ASAP. It kept me up all night last night. I will write the review today!

    3. Awesome job!! That is a lot of books to read. I don’t think I could read that many books in a week.

    4. Great job. So pissed I missed the book poetry challenge. *smacks self* I made some head way into my guilty pleasure reads. Getting closer to starting Elder Races series. I want to fan myself.

    5. Great job! You really smashed this goal! I have Room on audio but haven’t gotten to it yet. Looks like it’s a good one!

    6. Great job reaching your goals, Ash! Wasn’t Room so freaking haunting? I loved that book.

    7. *huggles you* Thanks, Ash. Great job on the mini-challenge!

    8. Yay for fun. BTW – I noticed you managed to sneak a non-YA book in there. Perfect choice! Khalil *sigh* who knew?!? Glad you had fun and reached your goal. Thanks for the challenge and all the support!

    9. I haven’t read any of Meg Cabot’s books yet, but added Abandon to my TBR on goodreads. I also added In the Path of Falling Objects.

I read ROOM back in the Fall-it left me with a disgusted feeling. Actually, an angry feeling.

Have just started listening to my 1st audio book ever and don’t know if it will work out-can’t stay focused! :)

      • Abandon and In the Path are both great books. Very, VERY different books, but great. Room is definitely not a happy-go-lucky book, but I closed it satisfied and hopeful.

        Good luck with your audiobook!

Congrats on reaching your 6 book goal! I loved Dead of Night, how are you liking it?

    11. Sarah says:

Woo-hoo, congrats on reaching your goals! :)

    12. By GOLLY, you did it! *cheers*
I’m so glad you enjoyed Oracle’s Moon. Khalil is one of my favorite characters from that series. I just love him! “I will achieve pancakes.” Lololol!
      Great job, bebe!

    13. For my last book I picked a short one as I only had 30 minutes left on the clock. It still counts though :P Glad you had fun,

      Here is my progress post.

Glad you had so much fun during Bout of Books. I have no clue what is my problem but I always seem to get distracted during Bout of Books. I didn’t do any of the challenges and I didn’t get anywhere near my reading goals. I blame a super busy week at work and needing to do a ton of stuff during my “reading” times.

    15. Stephanie says:

So glad you were able to get so much time in during your busy week!
